Hike from Ein Hod to the Etzba Cave (Finger Cave) along the Mount Carmel Mountain Range
This is a popular, beautiful and partially circular hike in the Mount Carmel Nature Reserve and National Park that starts from the parking lot outside Ein Hod, continues along the Schvil Yisrael to overlook the coastal plane and Atlit, and then descends to the Finger Caves and the parking lot for Nahal Oran.
Time: About 3½ hours
Distance: 2.3 Km
Type of hike: Circular
Directions, parking and starting point: Enter “Ein Hod Artist Village” into Waze. Do not enter the village but park in the parking lot just outside the artist village. The trail adjoins the parking lot.
Difficulty: About 3½ hours.
Public transport: Enter “Ein Hod Artist Village.” There is a bus route directly to the village.

As you continue walking, you will be overlooking the coastal plain and can see below you the outskirts of Atlit. You will pass some interesting metal statues.
-
Continue until you come to a fork in the path for the black-marked trail. Take the trail to the left, which is also the Schvill Yisrael trail and the most direct path to the Finger Cave. Towards the end of the descent to Nahal Oran, you will pass a British pill box and steps will lead from there to the picnic area for Nahal Oran.
-
Turn to the right and pass through two gates on a blue-marked trail by the stream (probably dry) and this will continue as a black-marked trail up the hill to meet the Schvill Yisrael trail. It is easier than the descent you have just done, but does involve climbing in places.
-
When you come to the Schvil Yisrael turn left and this will take you to the parking lot and your car.
